Hurontario LRT

As Mississauga and Brampton expand with new residents, businesses and amenities, sustainable and reliable public transit becomes vital. The upcoming Hurontario Light Rail Transit (LRT) will provide many benefits to the rapidly growing Peel region and will bring a new, environmentally friendly and reliable method of public transportation.

The 18km transit line will include 19 stops, travel through two urban growth centres and connect to major transit systems. It will operate in its own dedicated lane ensuring a smooth, reliable and convenient ride along the region’s busiest street. Travellers will be able to regional transit networks, the GO Transit lines at Port Credit and Cooksville; Mississauga Transitway; Brampton Zum at the Brampton Gateway terminal and express and local MiWay and Brampton transit services.

The Hurontario LRT will operate with clean, electrically powered light rail vehicles, producing near-zero emissions. Not only will the LRT line get cars off the road, it will also offer a more sustainable, environmentally conscious way to travel.
