Since the minimum notice to terminate a lease is 60 days, you’ll find most rental listings have a move-in date within the next 60 days or less. If you’re looking to move into a rental, we recommend beginning your search at least one month before your planned move-in date. If you’re currently renting, make sure to hand in your 60-day notice to avoid overlapping your lease terms.

The typical screening process involves authenticating a renter’s identity, financial information, and references. Government-issued IDs, financial records, and letters or phone numbers from previous Landlords are all common things that can be part of a screening.
